A 35-year-old man has been arrested in Arunachal Pradesh has been arrested on the charge of attempting to sexually assault a teenager in Itanagar at knifepoint , the police informed on Thursday.
On Tuesday, the suspect allegedly tried to sexually assault the 16-year-old girl in the vicinity of Sangey Laden. With assistance from the public, the accused was captured by the girl’s uncle on Wednesday, who then turned him over to the police.
According to the police’s report, on November 22 at around 1:30 pm, an unidentified male stopped the victim near Sangey Laden and flashed a knife.
According to the authorities, the male was intoxicated and pulled the woman when she refused to comply.

But she boldly got to her feet and ran away. If she informed anyone, the inebriated man threatened her with grave consequences. Police claimed she quickly told an uncle about her situation nonetheless, displaying courage.
The uncle arrived there right once, searched for the unidentified individual, and, with help from the general public, captured and transported him to the Chimpu police station where a report was also filed.
At the Itanagar Women’s Police Station, a first information report (FIR) was subsequently filed against the accused under sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 354 (assault with intent to outrage modesty), 505 (public mischief), and 8 (sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act (WPS).
The suspect was eventually revealed to be Bagram Tasam, also known as Nesang, of the Jullang region.
According to the police, he proposed to her while intoxicated and left his phone number in her notebook.
The police station for women had already examined the victim and recorded her statement, they added. The investigation is being finalised on priority, they added.
