Celebrating the special Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony. The track includes the original cast from Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan – actors Arun Govil, Dipika Chikhlia and Sunil Lehri – in leading roles. Arun announced the release date on his social media.
Arun Govil shared a post on his X handle to announce the release of the song. Sharing a poster from the video, he wrote, “Let’s welcome our beloved Lord Ram, Sita and Lakshman in Ayodhya in the mesmerising voice of Sonu Nigam in ‘Humare Ram Aaye Hai’, a symphony penned and composed by Abhishek Thakur featuring original Ram Arun Govil, original Sita Dipika Chikhlia and original Laxman Sunil Lehri. Jai shree ram (sic).
The Ramayan TV show will air during the Ram Mandir inauguration. Adopting the slogan ‘Ab Har ghar hoga Ayodhya, har ghar mein prakat honge Ram,’ the channel strives to resonate with the nationwide sentiments associated with Lord Ram. This initiative comes as the magnificent temple prepares to welcome devotees, featuring the original Ramayan on small screens.
Back then the TV show changed the entire mindset and became a huge success, paving way for more mythological TV shows.
According to BBC, the serial has been viewed by over 650 million viewers. Ramayan was the most expensive TV show produced during at the time with a budget of 9 lakhs per episode. And the channel made Rs 40 lakh per episode.
The TV show was shot for about 550 days. It was mostly shot in Umbergaon, Gujarat.

The trio became massively popular and were consciously aware of their public appearances as they were and still is regarded as Gods and Goddess in real life.
Arun Govil back then gave up smoking in public, Dipika, who played Goddess Sita, would wear sarees in public.
The actors Bal Dhuri and Jayshree Gadkar, who played the roles of Dashrath and Kaushalya were married in real life.
Another interesting trivia about Arvind Trivedi playing the role of Raavan. He went to audition for a role of a boatman and had rejected the role of Raavan when offered to him by Ramanand Sagar.
However, it was Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal, who convinced him to play the role of Raavan.
