An engaging art workshop focused on integrating art into education was recently organized at PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Mauli. This initiative aimed to nurture students’ artistic talents, underscore the significance of art in educational settings, and provide a creative outlet for student expression. The workshop, directed by art teacher Padmaveer Singh, featured guest artists Mohit and Kanishk from Chandigarh and ran from August 23 to September 22, 2024. The opening and closing ceremonies were presided over by Principal Roopchand.
Seventy enthusiastic students participated in the month-long workshop, where they created a variety of paintings and wooden sculptures. The students effectively conveyed the theme “Why Art is Essential in Education” through their artwork, allowing them to explore and express their ideas creatively. The workshop not only fostered artistic growth but also encouraged students to understand the pivotal role art plays in holistic education.
To showcase the students’ talents, a special art exhibition was held featuring the paintings and sculptures produced during the workshop. Principal Roopchand congratulated the young artists and sculptors, recognizing their hard work and creativity. He emphasized the importance of initiatives like this in nurturing and developing talent in the arts.

Art teacher Padmaveer Singh expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants and collaborators for their contributions, which made the workshop a resounding success. The event provided a platform for students to enhance their artistic skills while reinforcing the idea that art is a vital component of education.
