Band, Baaja, Bhangra: Entertainment Ideas for an Enjoyable Wedding

People might not remember what flavour your cake was, or what colour the centerpieces were, but what they won’t ever forget is whether they had fun or not.
Once the guest list is ready and the decor has been selected, what’s next? Well, this is the time for the wedding couple to jazz things up and bring in some incredible entertainment. Simple but enjoyable activities like choreographed dance performances, folk and modern music performances, open mic, and an exclusive DJ to dance the night away can not only elevate the spirits of the guests but also make your wedding one they’ll remember forever.
Given below are some terrific ways to add a burst of flavorful entertainment to any wedding:
Live performances: From magicians and ballet dancers to a full circus act, there is no shortage of live performers you can pick from. Some great options are acrobats, tightwire dancers, mimes, aerial and hoop performers, and stilt walkers. Impress your guests with a wedding performance that rivals the Circ du Soleil.
Fireworks: End the wedding night with a bang—quite literally. Schedule a spectacular fireworks display towards the end of the night with rockets or lancework—fireworks that spell the couple’s name, wedding hashtag, or logo. This in turn would make for a fabulous photo opportunity as well!
Host a ladkiwale vs ladkewale competition: Just like celebrities Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas did at their wedding, plan a cricket match between the brides’s and groom’s family. A little friendly competition with customized t-shirts and caps will bring both families closer to each other and will give the winning team bragging rights for a long time!
DJ or Live Band: Work with your DJ to create a playlist that spans many decades so you can include songs for all your guests! Mix some retro in there with current top hits and all your guests will be tearing up the dance floor all night long. Or hire a full live band to make your guests feel like they’re at a concert!
Awards Ceremony: Add some laughs to your wedding reception or Sangeet by holding an awards ceremony. Awards can include “Best Dressed”, “On-Deck Mr. and Mrs. (next to get married)”, “longest married couple” and “Most likely to be the last one on the dance floor”.
Weddings are all about celebration and fun. Since the memories a couple makes during their wedding are meant to last a lifetime, adding an element of entertainment might be fun to make the occasion more special. Though there are plenty of ways to spice up a wedding, it is always better for the about-to-be-married couple to find their best fit to have the wedding of their dreams.
