Whether it is protecting our international borders, controlling the vinternal security situation of the states or helping the Indian population at dire times of need like cyclones, floods, etc., the Indian Army has always been at the forefront. Responding to the Assam government’s request, Indian Army in collaboration with the State Health Department organised a ‘Plasma Donation Camp’ at Tezpur Medical College in Assam. Over 40 Army personnel of Gajraj Corps, who have recently recovered from the coronavirus, donated their plasma for Covid patients in the state. Assam’s health minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Piyush Goyal, Lt Gen Shantanu Dayal, GOC Gajraj Corps and other civilian and military officials graced the occasion. In his statement, the state’s health minister recognised the whole hearted contributions of the Indian Army with Gajraj Corps in particular, in this fight against COVID-19 pandemic and spoke very high of the Indian Army and its ethos of assisting the people of Assam in this time of need.
