Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia has resigned from the post of Porbandar MLA. He has personally resigned from the post of MLA in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly to Speaker Shankar Chaudhary.
Along with this, Arjun Modhwadia has resigned from all the positions of the Congress party. In this resignation letter written to Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, Arjun Modhwadia wrote that Congress insulted Lord Ram by rejecting Ayodhya congregation ceremony.

“On January 11, 2024, when the Congress Party leadership rejected the invitation for the Ramlalla Prana Pratishtha Mohotsav in Ayodhya, I expressed my disapproval. Lord Rama is not only worshiped by Hindus, but he is the faith of India. By rejecting the invitation to Pran Pratistha Mohotsav, Congress as a party has hurt the sentiments of the people of India and failed to evaluate the sentiments of the people.

I have met many people who were upset that the Congress party had insulted Lord Ram by boycotting the festival in Ayodhya. To further distract and insult this sacred occasion, Rahul Gandhi tried to create a ruckus in Assam, further angering our party workers and citizens of India. For the past few years I have been feeling helpless to contribute to the people of my district Porbandar and the state of Gujarat. Therefore, with a heavy heart, I am resigning from all posts in the Congress Party, the party with which I have been associated for the last 40 years and for which I have given my entire life. I am grateful to the party leadership and its workers for their affection towards me in the last four decades.”
