Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan arrived in the capital for a one-day campaign tour. He held a press conference at the BJP State Media Center. During this, he gave a sharp response to the statement made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding India’s loss in the cricket match, which was attributed to PM Modi.
Chouhan said, “The entire country was filled with patriotic fervour, and he (PM Modi) wanted India to win the cricket final because sports is also a symbol of patriotism. If PM Modi goes there, it is a matter of pride for us. However, Congress people fear and despise PM Modi so much that they celebrate when India loses. The comment on PM Modi by Congress’s youth prince reflects the mindset of these people.” He added, “Mahatma Gandhi, after the independence of the country, had said that Congress should be dissolved and turned into a public service organisation, but Nehru did not agree. Now, Rahul Gandhi is moving towards fulfilling Mahatma Gandhi’s words, and in the coming times, he will completely finish Congress.”
Chouhan said, “Appeasement has been the core policy of the Congress government in Rajasthan. These people imposed restrictions on Hindu festivals and processions and imposed Section 144 on processions. Kanhaiya Lal’s throat is cut in Udaipur. This is due to the Congress government’s support for terrorists and its policy of appeasement.”
Expressing confidence in the BJP’s win, he said that the people of Rajasthan are troubled and disturbed by the Congress’s misrule, and they have decided to give a heavy mandate to the BJP and elect a double-engine government.
Chouhan also addressed election meetings in support of BJP candidates in Vair, Deoli, and Hindauli. In the meetings, he said, “Today under the leadership of the BJP and the guidance of PM Modi, our country is progressing in every direction. India is making waves in the world.”
He added, “Due to the double-engine government in Madhya Pradesh, the state is developing. The public welfare schemes of the Center and the State are benefiting every section of society…Therefore, this time let BJP win with a huge majority.”
