J&K Apni Party chief Altaf Bukhari on Monday accused People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) of spreading lies about the future of Jammu and Kashmir and added that he was not against PAGD as a political opponent.
Despite being a Minister in the PDP-BJP cabinet and also close to Farooq Abdullah, Bukhari said that both these parties including other constituents of PAGD were pushing youth to uncertainty.
During the party convention in the Bandipora district, Bukhari said that both NC and PDP have been deceiving the people of Jammu and Kashmir over the promises of self-rule and autonomy.
Advocating people to wait for the Supreme Court’s decision on Article 370, he said that it was the only way for its restoration and no emotional slogan or any political posturing can reverse the decision of the Central government.
Responding to the allegations of PAGD that J&K Apni Party was B-team of BJP, Bukhari said that all these leaders have been in the government with the BJP and National Conference at present is still in alliance in Kargil Council but they are free to say anything about him.
He added that PAGD and other such forces are trying to portray the coming local elections for development as a referendum over the Central government decisions but people should separate the two-issue and vote for development.
