TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu continues to sweep both Lok Sabha as NDA part and Assembly elections, and it is predicted, that Chandrababu Naidu might become a kingmaker at the national level.
According to early trends, the NDA is crossing the majority threshold, with all 14 seats held by the TDP showing a lead in the Lok Sabha elections.
In this election, the party had contested 17 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats and it is getting wide support from the state.
Out of the 175 seats in the state assembly, the TDP was ahead in 99 seats, its ally Jana Sena in 15, and the BJP in five, bringing the NDA total to 119 seats. In contrast, the Jagan Reddy-led YSR Congress party faced complete defeat, currently securing only 15 seats.
Chandrababu Naidu was a member of the NDA government from 2014 to 2019. He departed from the NDA before the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and joined the Congress-led UPA alliance, resulting in losses in both Lok Sabha and assembly polls.
Following these defeats, he distanced himself from the Congress and rejoined the NDA in March 2024, just a few days before the national elections were announced.
Political analysts suggest that factors such as the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu by Jagan Mohan Reddy and allegations of misgovernance & corruption leveled by YSRCP MLAs have swayed the election in their favor.
