In the wake of inputs that terrorist might use drones to carry out explosions during the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, security forces have deployed Anti-drone mechanism at Bhagwati nagar base camp.To make the Amarnath Yatra incident free foolproof security arrangements have been put in place which includes settings up of Antondrone mechanism at vulnerable location .
Sources in the security establishments told The Daily Guardian Review, “This year it would be more challenging for us as we have received number of inputs through various security and intelligence agencies that terrorist could try to target Amarnath Yatra by using Sticky Bomb/ Magnetic Bomb, IDs and by using drone to disturb peace in Jammu and Kashmir.”
Kohli added, “We are expecting that this year there will be a huge rush of Amarnath Yatra as it is going to be resumed after a gap of three years, so we are deploying additional 5000 specially trained troops to thwart nefarious plan of terrorists and enemy”. Baba Amarnath Shrine Board have made special arrangements at more than half a dozen locations including Kalika Dham, Sarswati Dham near Jammu railway station, Ram Mandir Purani mandi in old Jammu city, Amarnath Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar Base camp, Jammu and at several other locations for current registration of Amarnath Yatris so that if somebody is not registered can get it done.
Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place to ensure hassle free Yatra this year. The security establishment will not be taking anything on chance as several terror outfits have already issued a warning for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. This year around eight lakh pilgrims are expected to undertake the Yatra to the holy cave shrine situated in South Kashmir‘s Belgaum area. Authorities are expecting a huge rush as the yatra is taking place after a gap of almost 3 years earlier in 2019. The Yatra had to be curtailed due to the threat from Pakistan-based terror outfits, in 2020 and 2021, the Yatra could not be held due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the wake of threats from various terror outfits which have said that their bullets would not differentiate between a Hindutava pilgrim or a genuine pilgrim the security agencies have made elaborate security arrangements to thwart any attempt to disrupt the Yatra. Apart from elaborate security arrangements at the base camp special arrangements have been also put in place through the entire route of the Yatra.
This year for the first time the pilgrims can fly directly from Srinagar airport to the To the cave shrine and return on the same day.
Meanwhile, all security agencies including Jammu and Kashmir Police CRPF the army and other paramilitary forces or working in close coordination to make the Yatra a grand success.
