Another Chinese national arrested in loan apps case

An extensive investigation into instant loan lending apps led to the arrest of another Chinese national and cops froze Rs 28 crore. The cyber crime wing of Rachakonda police arrested “Jian @ Mark” (26) from Maharashtra. His employee Vivek Kumar (26), accountant at Ajaya Solutions, has also been taken into custody.

The confession of the previous arrested accused, namely Parusha Ram Lahu Takwe (32), director of Jia Liang infotech, located in Pune led to fresh arrests. It is to be recalled that cops took into custody Liang tian tian (Chinese national) who monitored the staff/employees, Aquib Shaik (19), Human Resource manager at Jiya Liang Infotech Pvt Ltd, Pune.

The accused persons are operating a call centre at Pune for providing services to instant loan apps companies 1) Ajaya Solutions Pvt Ltd Thane Mumbai, 2) Bienance information technology Pvt Ltd, 3) Epoch Go Credit Solutions Pvt Ltd GB Road, Thane West, Maharashtra, 4) Truthighfinetech Pvt Ltd and other companies. Jian Jian @Mark came to India in July 2019 on a business visa and joined as a representative on behalf of Chinese nationals Xu Nan, Xu Xinchang and Zhao Qiao who are the directors of the above said micro finance loan apps companies. Also, they appointed an Indian director Ankur Singh.

These companies provide instant online micro loans with high rate of interests to the borrowers through “online loan apps” like Krazy bean, Krazy rupee, Cashplus, Rupee Pro, Gold bowl, First Cash, Real rupee/Rupee Bear, Rupee most, Credit rupee, Cool Cash, Money now, Pocket rupee, Rupee Day, Cash goo, Cash star, Cash Bowll, Cash Kush, Cool Rupee, Money Rupee, Gold Rupee, Money Helper, R-Cash, Money Bell, etc. Call centres were established at Thane. An agreement was made with Jiya liyan Infotech Pvt Ltd, Pune, to recover the loan amounts from the borrowers.

“The above said companies do not have any valid licenses registered with RBI to run the NBFC business based on online applications. These applications are developed in such a way that on installing these apps by the borrowers, they get access to the contacts, mobile information and other data on the device of the borrowers. After one week of sanctioning the loan, the customer data they provide to their linked call centre Jiya Liang InfoTech Pvt Ltd, calls the borrowers for repayment the loan dues. If any borrower neither responds nor pays, they issue instructions to Jiya Liang Infotech Pvt Ltd, to start abusing the borrowers and threaten them to repay the due amounts through phone calls, police said.

The next step would be to dial the borrowers and their relatives, friends and telling them to repay the loan amounts along with abnormal interest added by the company. police added.

Acting on reliable information, a special team lead from Rachakonda visited Thane in Maharashtra and apprehended the accused. Jian and Vivek were brought to Hyderabad on transit warrant .
