A 33-year-old assistant loco pilot from Bihar, named Chandan Kumar, tragically lost his life during an attempt to intimidate his wife and children amid a heated dispute. The incident occurred in Ganesh Nagar, located in the Kottapalem area of Gopalapatnam, where the family has resided for the past five years. Chandan is survived by his wife, Lal Munni Kumari, and their two young children, both under seven years old.
According to the police, the situation escalated when Chandan’s children were making noise, sparking an argument between him and his wife. Initially, Munni Kumari sided with the children but eventually resorted to disciplining them.
To defuse the tension and scare his family, Chandan tied a saree around his neck and secured the other end to a ceiling fan hook. Unfortunately, the saree accidentally tightened, leading to Chandan’s death.
After the bedroom door remained closed for an extended period, Munni Kumari, with the help of neighbors, forced it open, only to discover that Chandan had already passed away.
The police arrived promptly, sending the body for a postmortem and beginning an inquiry into the incident. This tragic event has left the family in profound shock and sorrow. Assistant Commissioner of Police Annepu Narasimha Murthy stated that Chandan had attempted suicide following a heated argument with his wife.
