Amy Adams’ upcoming film ‘Nightbitch’ will now be released in theaters on December 6, instead of premiering on Hulu as originally planned, according to Variety. The Searchlight Pictures’ film features Adams in the lead role, playing a woman who discovers a feral power within herself as she navigates the challenges of raising a toddler in the suburbs.
The official synopsis describes Adams’ character as someone who becomes increasingly aware of strange signs indicating that she may be transforming into a canine. Scoot McNairy co-stars as Adams’ husband, who is frequently away on business trips. The film is adapted from Rachel Yoder’s novel, with Marielle Heller serving as both writer and director.
Heller, known for her work on ‘The Diary of a Teenage Girl’ and ‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood’, expressed her excitement for the project, stating, “Rachel Yoder’s book took my breath away… Adapting it with Amy Adams in mind has been the thing that has kept me going through the pandemic.”
Adams, who recently appeared in Disney’s ‘Disenchanted’, will next be seen in Taika Waititi’s adaptation of ‘Klara and the Sun’ alongside Jenna Ortega. ‘Nightbitch’ is produced by Heller, Adams, and several others, as reported by Variety.
