Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to embark on a day-long visit to Mumbai on Saturday, which will include paying homage to Lord Ganesha idols in two different localities within the city and participating in the prestigious ‘Laxmanrao Inamdar Memorial Lecture.’
Minister Shah’s Mumbai visit will commence with a visit to the Lord Ganesha idol set up by the ‘Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal’ in Bandra West, where he will offer his prayers. Subsequently, he will proceed to the renowned Lalbaug Raja Ganesha idol in the Lalbaug area of Parel in the afternoon. Later the Union Home Minister will take part in the ‘Laxmanrao Inamdar Memorial Lecture,’ a significant event jointly organized by Mumbai University and Sahakar Bharati.
This commemorative lecture, dedicated to the memory of Laxmanrao Inamdar, is set to take place at the Sir Cowasjee Jehangir Convocation Hall located in Mumbai University’s Fort campus on Saturday. Inamdar, one of the founding figures of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Gujarat, played a pivotal role in shaping the career of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The lecture, conducted in collaboration with Sahakar Bharati, a nationwide organization of cooperatives and cooperators founded by Inamdar, who was affectionately known as the ‘Vakil Saheb’ of RSS, is a tribute to his legacy.
Inamdar’s mission in Gujarat as an RSS pracharak was to inspire and recruit young individuals into the organization, and it was during this time that he first crossed paths with PM Modi in the 1960s.
