Campaigning for the assembly elections in Punjab has intensified. BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a rally in Patiala, Ludhiana, and Amritsar North on Sunday. The Union Minister fiercely targeted Congress during the rally and also raised questions about the security of Punjab.
During his address in Patiala, Punjab, Shah said, “After the Sikh riots, Rajiv ji had said: ‘When a big tree falls, the ground shakes. That land did not move, Congress sinned’. They had killed the Sikhs in Delhi. Congress did nothing to nab the killers. The Modi government has sent the culprits to jail by forming an SIT.”
“Religion conversion is a big problem in Punjab. If the BJP government comes, the converts will be seen outside Punjab. Kejriwal ji is saying that AAP will make Punjab drug-free. After drowning the entire Delhi in liquor, you (AAP) come to Punjab and say you will make the state drug-free!” Shah added.
Amit Shah, while targeting Charanjit Singh Channi, said, “Charanjit Singh Channi is dreaming of forming the government again. The person (Channi) could not keep the route of the Prime Minister of the country secure, how can we expect him to keep Punjab safe? Channi can’t keep it safe! Channi ji, you don’t have the right to rule in Punjab. The condition of Punjab is very bad and Congress has indicated that the condition is going to get worse. Channi sir do you have any roadmap for the development of Punjab Is there any action plan? All the power plants in Punjab are running in trouble.”
He further said that the BJP government has always given respect to the culture of Punjab. PM Narendra Modi celebrated the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh ji with great pomp across the country, the minister added.
“After completing the work of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor for Rs 120 crore, the pilgrims were facilitated to go there. Under the leadership of PM Modi, we have launched a huge campaign against drugs. The Indian government has caught so many drugs in 2020 and 2021, which were not caught even in 10 years. There is a government in Punjab that should cooperate with the Modi government in snapping the drug menace. The son of every household in Punjab is in military service. The jawans had been demanding one rank-one pension for 40 years, but Congress did not resolve the issue. Modi government implemented one rank-one pension,” Shah said.
Amit Shah also promised that if the BJP government is formed in Punjab, we will set up Narcotics Control Bureau branch offices in four cities of the state. For drug prevention, we will form a task force in every district of the state, he added.
