The Delhi government has called for a one-day extraordinary assembly session on Monday at 11:00 a.m. This comes in the middle of the UT’s ongoing political turmoil, following the CBI’s summons of the Delhi CM in connection with the excise policy fraud.

The CBI called Kejriwal to its headquarters on Sunday at 11 a.m. as part of its investigation into the now-cancelled excise scheme. The agency phoned him because he was a witness in the case rather than an accused in it.

According to a statement provided by the assembly secretariat, “the Legislative Assembly sitting will begin at 11:00 AM and will continue until the business fixed for the day is completed.”

The AAP had previously attacked the BJP, claiming that the party had singled it out for speaking out against corruption. AAP cabinet Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said in a statement “This incident is unprecedented.

And this should be discussed in the assembly. We will have views of all MLAs who are representing various constituencies in Delhi and know their perspective about this issue in the upcoming session.” Meanwhile, the BJP claimed that the Delhi Chief Minister was implicated in the matter and was “wearing Sisodia’s gloves.”

Let us remind you, Kejriwal’s summons comes only days after AAP was designated as a national party.
