Conversely, Washington recorded the lowest bill at $100.56. Montana and Wyoming had slightly higher bills, with averages of $114.25 and $114.75, respectively.

According to a recent LendingTree study, the average electricity bill in August 2024 reached $185.59. This represents a 2.6% increase from the previous year. As a result, energy costs continue to contribute to the ongoing cost of living crisis.
Financial Struggles Due to Rising Costs
Furthermore, the report revealed that the rising energy prices have caused financial strain for many Americans. Over one-third (34.3%) of people have been forced to cut back on essential expenses. Additionally, 23.4% of Americans have struggled to pay their bills in full.
