Draw of lots to allocate licenses of liquor vends for applications received for allotment of L-2 and L-14A fetched a revenue of Rs 528.52 crores with an enhancement of 12.5 per cent against the existing year revenue of Rs 469 crore. The draw was conducted successfully in transparent manner.
Divulging the details, Assistant Commissioner Excise Department, Mohali, Ashok Chalhotra said that the district has been divided into 14 groups for allotment of L-2 and L-14 A vends for the fiscal 2024-25. A total of 9920 applications have been received for these 14 groups having 299 vends. Out of these groups, 04 groups relate to the MC Mohali area while 10 others relate to other urban areas. He said that a fee of Rs 74.40 crore collected from the applicants, contributes 30 per cent of revenue towards the state revenue from applications for allotment of vends.
He said that for Mohali group 2206 applications, for Kharar group 1943, for Zirakpur 2055, Kurali 728, New Chandigarh (Naya Gaon) 703 applications, Babur 737 applications, Derabassi 995 and for Lalru group 553 applications were received that were included in today’s draw of lots.
The draw of lots was conducted in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Sonam Chaudhary, Udeydeep Singh Sidhu, Deputy Commissioner, Excise, Patiala, Deputy Commissioner State Taxes, Ms Ramandeep Dhaliwal and a large number of applicants at Rai Farms on Kharar-Landran road.
The Ropar vends were also allocated here by draw of lots *that fetched a revenue of Rs 257.93 crore.
