Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a press conference on Thursday where he claimed that a summons from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was ‘false’. Kejriwal said he has explained to the ED why their summons is illegal. The Chief Minister stated that his “biggest strength and asset is his honesty”.

During the two-year period where various BJP agencies have conducted many raids against AAP leaders, Kejriwal said not a single rupee of corruption was found. He questioned where any potential illicit money would be if corruption claims were true. AAP leaders have been jailed in “fake cases,” according to Kejriwal. Now, the BJP wants to arrest him as well, Kejriwal alleged.

Kejriwal questioned the timing of the notice just before the 2024 national elections. He believes the Bharatiya Janata Party wants to stop him from campaigning. The Chief Minister said his lawyers told him the summons was unlawful, so he sent questions to the ED. Kejriwal said he will comply with any legal summons but will not obey an unlawful one.

Kejriwal has always fought for the country and will continue doing so until his last day, according to the AAP chief. He alleged the BJP is using the ED to bring opposition leaders into their party by resolving their legal matters. Honest leaders like Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Vijay Nair have been jailed, Kejriwal claimed.

The Delhi Chief Minister skipped a third summons issued by the ED on December 22nd, 2023 regarding the alleged Delhi liquor scam case. Kejriwal expressed willingness to cooperate but declined the January 3rd appearance date, calling the notice “illegal. He also questioned why the agency did not respond to his prior queries when summons were first sent.
