The Allahabad High Court in the case observed and has acquitted prime suspect Surinder Koli in 12 cases concerning the 2005-2006 Noida serial murders case i.e., the Nithari case.
The court in all the 12 cases had been awarded the death penalty by the trial court.
The court also acquitted the Moninder Singh Pandher in two cases in which he was sentenced to death by the trial court.
The bench comprising of Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra and Justice Syed Aftab Husain Rizvi in the case observed and has allowed appeals moved Pandher and Koli after reserving the judgment in the cases last month.
Therefore, when the Koli was handed death sentences in 12 cases earlier, Pandher too, had been sentenced to death in 2 cases by the trial courts.
About the Nithari Killings
In the present case, the infamous Nithari murders were committed between 2005 and 2006. Thus, the said matter came to light when in December 2006, skeletons were found in the drain near a house in Nithari, Noida.
It was also being found by the CBI registered the total number of 16 cases, charge sheeting Koli in all of them for murder, abduction, and the rape besides destruction of evidence, and Pandher in one for immoral trafficking.
However, the Ghaziabad court summoned Pandher in five other cases after several victims’ families approached the court.
Therefore, it has been stated by the CBI that Koli had killed several girls by chopping off their bodies to pieces before throwing them in the backyard outside the house of them.
