All roads of Panchkula are going to be transformed. The work for construction and re-carpeting of roads will be done by the Municipal Corporation, Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority (PMDA) and Haryana Urban Development Authority at a cost of about Rs 200 crore.
In the same series, Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Gian Chand Gupta today inaugurated the recarpeting work of almost all the 16 km long roads of Sector-2 near Satluj Public School here today. This work will be completed by the Municipal Corporation at a cost of about Rs 2.28 crore. Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Kulbhushan Goyal and Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Sachin Gupta were also present on this occasion.
Gupta said that a series of development works have been undertaken by the Municipal Corporation in Panchkula, which is clearly visible on the ground. Yesterday only, the Municipal Corporation passed a budget of about Rs 255 crore for the financial year 2024-25, which will give further impetus to the development of Panchkula.
He said that all the roads falling under the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporation, PMDA and Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran are being recarpeted as per the requirement and in the same series, the recarpeting work of roads in Sector-2 has started from today. In the coming days, work for the construction and recarpeting of other roads will also be started. His effort is to ensure pothole -free roads in Panchkula, he asserted.
The Vidhan Sabha Speaker said that roads in the Industrial Area, Panchkula will be made of concrete so that the roads do not get damaged due to the movement of heavy vehicles.
This work is going to start from Monday. Gupta said that he has given clear instructions to officers to make sure that high quality material is used in the construction and re -carpeting work of roads. He made it clear that compromise with quality in development works will not be tolerated at any cost.
On this occasion, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Apoorva Chaudhary, Executive Engineer Ajay Panghal, JE Janaki, Councilors namely Sonu Birla, Suresh Verma, Jai Kaushik, Narendra Lubana and other prominent people including Sudesh Birla, Jatindra Mahajan, AK Tandon, Vivek Rana, Joginder Sharma, PS Chalana, M.M Uthreja, HC Bhasin were also present.
