Speaking at a joint press conference by the opposition I.N.D.I.A. Bloc in Lucknow, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of planning to dismantle the reservation system if they win the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Amidst the electoral battle, Yadav claimed that the BJP’s defeat in the initial phases of voting has led to a state of desperation within the party ranks.
Yadav asserted that BJP was pushing the slogan of ‘400 Paar’, but after four phases of voting, it’s evident they intend to target reservation first. This time, the 140 crore people of India will ensure they struggle to reach even 140 seats. They’ll be caught up in the battle for 99 seats in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Punjab, and will gain nothing there. We will certainly fight for basic needs like food, clothing, and shelter, but our foremost priority is to protect the Constitution.
Yadav emphasized the importance of preserving the Constitution, stating, “If the Constitution survives, democracy will survive. Only the Constitution given by Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar gives us rights and justice.” He also mocked the BJP, suggesting that after their anticipated defeat, they would “open the biggest university of lies in the universe.”
