Akasa Air, India’s commercial airline that took to the skies in August 2022, has unveiled its innovative “QuietFlights” initiative aimed at enhancing the travel experience for passengers flying during early morning and late-night hours.

What Is ‘QuietFlights’?

The “QuietFlights” program is specifically designed for flights operating between 10 PM and 6 AM. This initiative includes several measures to ensure a more serene cabin environment:
1. Minimal Announcements: Announcements will be limited to essential safety messages.
2. Adjusted Cabin Lights: Cabin lighting will be adjusted to create a calm and peaceful atmosphere.

Belson Coutinho, Akasa Air’s Co-Founder and Chief Marketing & Experience Officer, emphasized the airline’s commitment to passenger comfort. “The ‘QuietFlights’ initiative reinforces our commitment to creating a comfortable, relaxed, and peaceful cabin experience,” Coutinho said. He added, “In today’s fast-paced lifestyle, ‘QuietFlights’ has been consciously designed to help passengers unwind with minimized announcements and ambient cabin lighting for a calming inflight experience.”

Expanding Reach And Fleet

Akasa Air has rapidly expanded its reach, now connecting 22 domestic destinations including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, and more, as well as three international destinations: Doha, Jeddah, and Riyadh.

As the airline approaches its two-year anniversary in August, it marks another milestone by becoming the first airline globally to operate a fleet of 20 aircraft. In January 2024, Akasa Air made headlines by placing a significant order for 150 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft at WINGS India 2024 in Hyderabad, making it the first airline in the country to announce such a large order. This follows their initial order of 72 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in 2021 and an additional order for four Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft in June 2023, bringing their total order book to around 226 aircraft.

Commitment To Passenger Experience

Akasa Air’s “QuietFlights” initiative is a testament to its dedication to enhancing passenger experience by offering a tranquil environment during off-peak hours. This initiative, combined with their strategic expansion and fleet modernization, underscores Akasa Air’s ambition to lead in both service quality and operational capacity within the aviation industry.
