The Research and Analysis Wing, India’s external intelligence agency, marked its 55th Raising Day today. Later this evening, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is scheduled to award 106 medals to officers and staff members of the spy agency for admirable performance and distinguished service.
According to the reports, secretary (R&AW) Samant Kumar Goel briefed the NSA on the agency’s performance and offered Doval a general picture of their focus areas in the neighbourhood and beyond. The primary goal of R&AW is to evaluate the dangers that are posed to India from overseas and provide advice to the government on possible countermeasures.
NSA Doval also provided his opinion of the state of the world’s security and the main areas on which the spy agency should concentrate its efforts. NSA Doval, who directs the planning and execution of national security, is the conduit via which the R&AW reports to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
