In an exclusive interview with India News, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) discussed his party’s prospects in the upcoming Telangana state polls scheduled for November 30. He expressed his belief that any party coming to power after the election will take care of interest of minorities in the state.
Q: Telangana polls are fixed and what are the expectations of your party in the elections and the issues that your parties will like to cash in on?
A: AIMIM has always believed in delivering justice to one and all whether it is pre or post poll. In this election too, it has always raised the issue of reservation to minorities. Keeping this in mind, it hopes to garner votes of minorities and other economically weaker sections of the society and the state. Thus, the party is upbeat about its considerable participation in the governance after the results are out on December 3.
Q: How do you see BRS chances after the polls?
A: BRS is no more a party that it used to be. It is quite fragmented now like the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress or any other regional parties.
People have now realised that the incumbent party has not done anything for their welfare and thus, they are disillusioned with it. The result on December 3 will show it. Just wait for that.
