The student wing of AIMIM in Navi Mumbai has formally petitioned Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, urging him to direct CIDCO to allocate land for the construction of crematoriums, burial grounds, mosques, and places of worship for various religions in the Ulwe node of Panvel taluka, Raigad district.
Haji Shahnawaz Khan, the Maharashtra State General Secretary, emphasized that the Ulwe node has witnessed rapid development over the past decade, with a growing population of diverse religious and communal backgrounds. However, there is a noticeable absence of facilities for the last rites of Hindu, Muslim, and Christian community members, creating significant challenges for the residents.
In particular, Muslim and Christian inhabitants of Ulwe are compelled to travel to Sector 4 in Nerul for their funeral rites, underscoring the pressing need for accessible cremation and burial grounds within the Ulwe community.
