The Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed in the case of an interview of Lawrence Bishnoi by a private news channel last month has come under the lens of the Anti-Gangster Task Force. Now the command of the SIT has been handed over to Special DGP Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Kuldeep Singh.
The newly constituted committee will hand over its investigation in the next 15 days. Earlier in the Special Investigation Team members, there were SP Investigation Mansa Dharmveer Singh, DSP Investigation Bathinda Vishwajit Singh, and Incharge CIA Mansa Pratipal Singh. In view of the seriousness of the case, AGTF has also been inculcated in the SIT.
When the interview got aired, the Punjab jail officials gave the statement that this interview has been taken out of state. Because Bathinda jail premises are engaged in high-level security arrangements, which stop mobile phone calls, But Bishnoi claimed that he was giving the interview from Bathinda jail. After Lawrence’s interview, the opposition made heated remarks over the ruling government. Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Badal has tweeted and demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
At the same time, BJP state vice president Arvind Khanna has said that the Punjab government should clarify how the mobile phone reached the jail. In the interview, Lawrence Bishnoi said that the murder of Sidhu Moosewala was in revenge for the murder of young Akali leader Vicky Middukkheda in Mohali two years ago.
