National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah announced on Wednesday that the NC-Congress government will prioritize bridging the gaps between the regions of Jammu and Kashmir, aiming to foster confidence among the people of Jammu.

“We need to reduce the divisions that have been created between Kashmir and Jammu. Our goal is to ensure that the people of Jammu trust us to address their concerns just as we do for those in Kashmir,” Abdullah stated during a press conference. He emphasized, “We will not differentiate between the two regions. Regardless of whether they voted for us or not, we must focus on solving their problems.”

Abdullah acknowledged the significant challenges facing the new government, particularly highlighting inflation and unemployment. “Creating opportunities for our youth is paramount,” he added. Addressing the question of leadership, Abdullah asserted his authority over the selection of the government head. Responding to his son Omar Abdullah’s comments about the alliance deciding the chief minister, the senior Abdullah stated, “What I have decided is what will take place.”

On Tuesday, the NC president indicated that Omar Abdullah will serve as the chief minister of the forthcoming government. After win in polls, Farooq Abdullah promises equal attention to Jammu, Kashmir
