Former Chief minister of Bihar Rabri Devi took a jab at the federal government on Monday after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) visited her residence in connection with the land-for-jobs case. She said that while it would keep bothering her family, they would not cower down.
While responding on the central agency visit to her home earlier in the day, the former chief minister of Bihar said, “This has no value. This has always been the situation.” The CBI had already charged former Bihar chief ministers Lalu Prasad, Rabri Devi, their daughter Misa Bharti, and 13 other people in the suspected land-for-job scheme on 7 October, 2016. CBI on Monday stated that it is likely to question former Lalu Prasad Yadav in connection with the alleged scam. CBI has also said that it had also served notice to Yadav a few days ago.

According to a chargesheet submitted by the CBI last year, it was discovered during the inquiry that the accused conspired with the former GM of Central Railways and the CPO to have Central Railways hire people in lieu of land either in their names or the names of their close relatives. This land was purchased for substantially less than market value and far less than the current circle rate. According to the CBI statement, it was also claimed that the aspirants used fake TC and submitted fake attested documents to the Ministry of Railways.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has called the visit by the CBI team at former Bihar CM Rabri Devi’s residence as “humiliating”. Kejriwal was speaking at the inauguration event of the Ashram flyover in the national capital Referring to the visit of the CBI team at Rabri Devi’s residence, Kejriwal said, “This is wrong, raids like these are humiliating.”
On being asked about can this be seen in connection with the letter written by the Opposition leaders to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Delhi CM said, “It can be seen like that also. It is becoming a trend, that wherever there are Opposition governments, they won’t be allowed to function. They (BJP) use ED, CBI and Governor to trouble them. Democracy will go ahead only when everyone will work together, whoever has a government should be allowed to work there.”
