Lisa Ray made a spectacular return to the runway as the showstopper for Rahul Mishra at the Hyundai India Couture Week 2024, held in New Delhi. Mishra’s latest collection, ‘Nargis,’ was inspired by nature and handcrafted by over 1,200 artisans.

This collection featured intricate embroidery techniques and supported the reverse migration of artisans back to their villages. Complementing the couture was a debut jewelry line from Mora, adding an extra touch of elegance and sophistication to the showcase.

The event took place at The Ashok, Chanakyapuri, and highlighted Rahul Mishra’s deeper spiritual connection with nature. The ‘Nargis’ collection, a visual feast reminiscent of an escapist’s dream, included embroidery inspired by peacocks in Mughal gardens, ripe pomegranate flowers, and serene fish ponds. Each piece was carefully crafted with vibrant aari thread-work, bugle beads, and other embellishments, reflecting Mishra’s commitment to reviving ancient hand-embroidery techniques.

Mishra’s collection not only embraced a rich tapestry of nature-inspired designs but also underscored the brand’s dedication to reversing the migration of artisans from crowded city factories to their rural communities.
