Amid alarming pollution in the national capital, an awareness drive called Youth Walk was organised by the Delhi University Student Union (DUSU) in collaboration with Students for Development (SDF). This awareness drive aims to draw attention to the fact that the capital city is being turned into a gas chamber due to pollution.

Speaking on this drive, Aparajita, DUSU Secretary, stated, The drive demonstrated the commitment of DUSU and SDF towards engaging youth and the wider community in a collective effort to combat pollution and work towards making Delhi cleaner and  greener. We also want the root cause of this problem to be addressed properly and work in the direction of sustainable development, and we aim to bring about this change, added Aparajita.

Amit Verma, convenor of SDF North Campus, said, The causes of pollution in Delhi are stubble burning, emissions from vehicles, hazardous waste from factories, and adverse weather conditions. We urge the citizens to adapt to public transport and electric vehicles, and the people should encourage tree planting and increase green cover in the city, added Verma.
