Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) affiliated students clashed with left leaning organization students in Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) late on Thursday night. The two group of students clashed at the School of Languages ​​late on Thursday night. The clash between the two parties reportedly took place over the selection of election committee members. A university official said that some injured students have been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital.

A purported video of this incident circulating on social media shows a person beating some students with a stick, while in another video a student is seen throwing a bicycle at another group.

In the second video, the mob is surrounding and beating some students, while the security guards are seen trying to separate the warring groups. Students of ABVP and left organizations have filed police complaints against each other.

The JNU administration is yet to issue any statement on the clash and the number of students injured has also not been confirmed.
