The Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa, today inaugurated a new bridge connecting Bani Yas East and Bani Yas West in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Salem Khalfan Al Kaabi, Director-General of Operational Affairs at the DMT, Saif Badr Al Qubaisi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi City Municipality, and Abdulla Al Marzouqi, Director-General of the Integrated Transport Centre, as well as other high-ranking officials, attended the ceremony.
The new bridge, which is located on Abu Dhabi Al Ain Road (E22), will improve traffic flow to and from Bani Yas and other nearby areas. The travel time between East and West Baniyas has been reduced from 11 minutes to 3 minutes, which benefits the locals. The interchange can handle approximately 1400 vehicles per hour from E22 Abu Dhabi / Al Ain and 1100 vehicles per hour from East or West Baniyas.
