AAP MP Sanjay Singh met with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge at his residence in Delhi to discuss the INDIA bloc’s Common Minimum Programme (CMP) for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. They also discussed the development of a common manifesto, with Singh expressing optimism about reaching a decision soon. This was Singh’s first meeting with Kharge since being released from prison.

Singh commented on the meeting, saying, “He (Kharge) encourages us in the House. He is our leader of the opposition. After being released from jail, I had to meet him and take his blessings for the upcoming fight.”

“We also discussed the proposal of issuing an INDIA bloc’s Common Minimum Programme (CMP), to outline the key issues we will prioritize after forming the INDIA bloc government,” added Singh, who is an AAP Rajya Sabha MP.

Regarding other topics discussed, Singh mentioned, “We also talked about the erosion of democracy and the Constitution, the unjust arrests of Opposition leaders, the misuse of agencies like the ED and CBI, and the denial of basic rights to Arvind Kejriwal.”

Kejriwal is currently in Tihar Jail following his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money-laundering case linked to an alleged liquor scam in Delhi.

Delhi is scheduled to hold elections on May 25. In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured all seven seats in Delhi. Vote counting will take place on June 4.
