The arrival of ‘AAP’ in Gujarat will benefit the people rather than benefitting or harming the political parties, the analysts say. The arrival of AAP will benefit the people of Gujarat in various ways. The BJP will now have to do more for the people to win their confidence. As Congress becomes more active as the opposition, the government will always be aware of the opposition’s issues. Even out of fear of the Aam Aadmi Party, the government will have to provide benefits like the Delhi model on issues like education, health, electricity.

For the last 25 years, the BJP and the Congress have been at loggerheads in Gujarat politics and power, with the BJP dominating from local self-government to Parliament. At this time, with the sudden entry of the Aam Aadmi Party in Gujarat, new equations have started to form in the politics of Gujarat, which can benefit the people of the state. At the same time, voters are getting an extra option in the elections.

For years in Gujarat’s politics, voters have been choosing the national party over the regional party or independents. In particular, the BJP and the Congress were the only two major parties active, leaving voters with only two options. As a result, the ruling party, the BJP, is gaining power, while internal divisions within the Congress party have led to the disengagement of the people from the Congress.

The Aam Aadmi Party has been making slow strides in Gujarat for some time now in the battle between the BJP and the Congress, but it has not been able to reach the minds of the people. But the Aam Aadmi Party has been very active in Gujarat for the last couple of years, and the voters came out to support AAP in the local body and municipal elections. AAP emerged after winning the district and Taluka Panchayats from the municipal corporation.

With the entry of AAP in Gujarat, a challenge has risen for the ruling BJP, as well as for the Congress. If the people support AAP in the next elections, Congress may be the second and not the third option, so that AAP’s entry can change Gujarat’s age-old political pattern, as it is said by the analysts that the BJP has been in power for years.

Because, the people had no choice but the Congress and the people did not trust the power of the Congress, the wise voters of Gujarat were loosely sending the BJP to power, but now the Aam Aadmi Party can be an alternative, which can be a turning point in Gujarat politics and electoral trends, analysts say.
