Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs on Friday staged a ‘dharna’ outside the Punjab Assembly, demanding that Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh should immediately convene an all-party meeting, in which representatives of farmer organizations, farmers, farm experts and other stakeholders should be invited.

AAP MLAs said that the special Vidhan Sabha session should be convened before 15 October so that the farmers and other all sections could be saved from ruin. Led by Deputy Leader of Opposition Sarabjit Kaur Manuke, the ‘dharna’ was addressed among others by Prof Baljinder Kaur, Manjit Singh Bilaspur, Kulwant Singh Pandori, Master Baldev Singh (all MLAs).

On the occasion, Sarabjit Kaur Manuke said that AAP had been opposing the well-thought-out design of the government at the centre, saying that it would continue to oppose the new farm laws till they were scrapped.
