Aam Aadmi Party’s Senior Vice President Anurag Dhandha has targeted the BJP and JJP government over the removal of children’s names from government schools and the deteriorating conditions of children in government schools. He stated that the Khattar government wants to shut down government schools. On one hand, schools are being closed under the guise of mergers. Meanwhile, on the other hand, the number of out-of-school children (OOSC) aged 7 to 14 years is continuously increasing in Haryana. Where 19,481 children had removed their names from government schools in 2021-22, 28,139 in 2022-23, and this year, 31,068 children have removed their names from government schools. In cities like Gurugram, 3,820, Yamunanagar 3,279, Panipat 2,922, and Panchkula 2,269 children have removed their names from government schools.

He said that a survey conducted by the Haryana Education Department reveals a continuous rise in the number of out-of-school children in the state. The state’s Education Minister has done nothing but exploit the education system.

He said that the condition of government schools in Haryana is so deplorable that there are no benches, no electricity, no toilets, no drinking water, no school boundary, no classrooms, and no teachers. Nearly 40,000 teaching positions are vacant in Haryana’s government schools. In Khattar’s government, the atmosphere in Haryana’s government schools is only filled with fear.

The way news of continuous harassment in schools with girls is coming out, and the government seems not to take any strict action, it has shattered people’s confidence in government schools. He said that while on one hand, children are leaving private schools in Delhi and Punjab and taking admission in government schools, on the other hand, in Haryana, children are leaving government schools due to the government’s failure to get admission in private schools. He said that the Khattar government wants to keep children illiterate.

The future of all these children is in darkness.
