Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has emphasised the mandatory use of Aadhaar during the application process for all beneficiary schemes. The CM clearly stated that schemes linked to Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) should require Aadhaar at the time of application. This will help in increasing the coverage of Family ID.
So far, 76 schemes of the central and state governments have been linked with Family ID. The CM stated that all beneficiary schemes should be linked to Family ID. The database of these schemes should be obtained and connected to the Family Welfare Passbook and Family ID. The CM was reviewing the ‘Family ID’ scheme for every family in the state on Thursday.
CM Yogi said that a Family ID is being prepared to provide the benefits of government schemes to every family and to connect one member of each household with employment or a job. In UP, 15.07 crore people from 3.60 crore families are linked to the Food Security Scheme. The ration card number of these families is their Family ID. Additionally, more than 1 lakh non-ration card holders have already been issued a Family ID.
The CM stated that for families who do not hold a ration card, there is a provision to register on https://familyid.up.gov.in and obtain a Family ID. This scheme should be widely publicized so that no family in the state is left out. This database will assist in better management of beneficiary schemes, ensuring timeliness, and reaching 100% of eligible individuals. Based on the database obtained through the Family ID, families deprived of employment can be identified and provided with appropriate job opportunities on a priority basis.
Link the Family ID at the time of admission
Yogi stated that Aadhaar authentication should be done at the time of new admissions in ITIs, polytechnics, and other higher educational institutions. After this, it should be linked to the Family ID.
There should be no unnecessary delay in issuing caste and income certificates, and the process should be made easier. A passbook for the family should be prepared, recording the full details of the benefits received from government schemes by each family. Before issuing the passbook and Family ID, all information related to the family should be duly verified. All relevant departments should cooperate in this.
