India’s defence production touched an all-time high of ₹1,50,590 crore in FY 2024-25, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced

This marks an 18% growth from last year’s ₹1.27 lakh crore and a 90% jump since 2019-20

Singh credited the collective efforts of DPSUs, private industry, and the Department of Defence Production for the achievement

DPSUs and other PSUs accounted for 77% of total production, while the private sector contributed 23%

Private sector share grew from 21% last year to 23%, reflecting its rising role in India’s defence ecosystem

DPSUs saw 16% growth, while the private sector surged 28% in FY 2024-25

Policy reforms, ease of doing business, and indigenisation have driven consistent year-on-year growth in both sectors

Defence exports hit a record ₹23,622 crore, up 12% from ₹21,083 crore in FY 2023-24
