India is celebrating its 76th Republic Day today, January 26, 2025 when a grand parade will be performed at Kartavya Path, national capital. The events initiated with PM Narendra Modi laying wreaths of flowers at National War Memorial. Then, after the ceremony was held two minute silence in its memory. As for this event, President Murmu hoisted the national flag at Kartavya Path with the initiation of her nation-leadership work on this particular day.

2025
For this year’s Republic Day celebrations, PM Modi chose a striking saffron and red safa, paired with a brown bandhgala coat and a cream churidar kurta set. His attire, as always, symbolized cultural pride and elegance.

In 2024, PM Modi gave a vibrant display of Bandhani print turban in shades of saffron, pink, white, and yellow. He carried the bright-coloured turban with an old classic kurta-pyjama of white cotton paired with a brown sadri that made him style a statement one.

On January 26, 2023, PM Modi was dressed in a multicolored pheta featuring orange, red, green, yellow, and white colors. The combination was paired with a cream-colored churidar kurta and a black bandhagala coat. Silk scarf was worn on the head that added glamour to the dress.
2022
On Republic Day 2022, for the 73rd time, the Prime Minister opted for a more regional style. He sported a kurta and pyjama along with a grey check-embroidered jacket. For accessories, there was an exclusive Uttarakhand cap, scarf, and Brahma Kamal-inspired brooch, a state flower of Uttarakhand.
2021
In 2021, PM Modi celebrated Republic Day by donning the ‘Halari Pagdi,’ a bright red bandhej turban with yellow dots. The headgear was a gift from the royal family of Jamnagar, Gujarat. He paired it with a grey jacket, a white kurta-pyjama, and an embroidered shawl.

Continuing the tradition, PM Modi chose a saffron bandhej turban with a tail for the 71st Republic Day in 2020. Bandhej is a tie-dye textile art practiced in Rajasthan and Gujarat, which added a cultural essence to his look. The turban was styled with his usual kurta, pyjama, and jacket ensemble.
