The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its second manifesto for the Delhi Assembly elections in 2025 on Tuesday. The party promises to provide free education “from KG to PG” for students in government schools and colleges who need financial assistance.
Financial Assistance for Youth
BJP MP Anurag Thakur launched the ‘Sankalp Patra’ for the upcoming Delhi elections. In this manifesto, the party promises ₹15,000 in financial aid for young people preparing for competitive exams. Additionally, BJP will reimburse two rounds of travel and application fees for these exams.
Welfare Proposals for Women and Senior Citizens
In the first part of the BJP’s manifesto, released last week, the focus was on welfare programs for women. The party has promised ₹2,500 monthly aid under the ‘Mahila Samridhi Yojana’. Furthermore, it proposed ₹21,000 for every pregnant woman and ₹2,500 in pension for senior citizens.
Improved Health and Welfare Plans
BJP president JP Nadda introduced the first manifesto, emphasizing the importance of effective welfare schemes. He assured that a BJP-led government would improve current schemes and address corruption. As a part of this, Nadda confirmed that the ‘Ayushman Bharat’ scheme would be implemented in Delhi, offering an additional ₹5 lakh in health coverage.
Support for Women and Families
The BJP also introduced additional support for pregnant women through the ‘Chief Minister Matritva Suraksha Yojana’. This would include ₹21,000 and six nutrition kits. Moreover, the party proposed offering LPG cylinders at ₹500 for low-income families, with one free cylinder provided on Holi and Diwali.
Increased Pensions for Senior Citizens
In terms of pensions, BJP promised to raise the amount for senior citizens. Specifically, those aged 60-70 would receive ₹2,500, while those above 70, including widows, the disabled, and destitute individuals, would get ₹3,000.
February Election Date
The Delhi Assembly election is scheduled for February 5, with results expected on February 8. The BJP and Congress are aiming to prevent the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) from securing a third consecutive term. While AAP has not yet released its full manifesto, it has already proposed free services such as revamped schools, mohalla clinics, and free electricity.
