Key figures have started streaming into the Capitol Rotunda to witness the historic swearing-in of President-elect Donald Trump, marking an important day in American politics.

Trump’s Kids in Attendance

Trump’s children, Ivanka, Donald Jr, Tiffany, Eric, and Barron, all arrived at the Capitol Rotunda to witness the historic moment, joining other dignitaries who will be there for the big event.

Doug Emhoff and Jill Biden Arrive for Ceremony

Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff and First Lady Jill Biden have also arrived at the Capitol Rotunda for the inauguration, joining the array of prominent figures gathered for the historic occasion.

Supreme Court Justices and Former Officials Arrive

Included are nine US Supreme Court justices, and Chief Justice John Roberts is coming to preside at the swearing-in ceremony. There, Justice Roberts will swear Trump in as president. It will be the case of JD Vance being administered the oath of office by Justice Brett Kavanaugh; he will then become vice president.

Mike Pence Returns for Ceremony Amid Tensions

Former Vice President Mike Pence, who notably did not endorse Trump in the 2024 election, has arrived at the Capitol. This marks their first appearance together since President Jimmy Carter’s funeral, after the tense fallout from the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack. The day will serve as a notable reunion between the two political figures in a symbolic moment of reflection on past events.

Former Presidents and First Ladies Attend

Former presidents and first ladies continue to enter the Rotunda today, making today’s event further historic. Their presences remind of the continued importance to the United States of peaceful successions.

Trump’s Choice of Cabinet Present

Among Trump’s Cabinet picks who have already arrived at the Capitol are Robert F. Kennedy for Health and Human Services, Kristi Noem for Homeland Security, Marco Rubio for Secretary of State, and Doug Burgum for Interior Secretary. Also on the list are some of the more significant figures like Tulsi Gabbard, Kash Patel, and Elon Musk, among others. Gabbard and Patel were nominated for important national security positions.

Among the attendees will be Susie Wiles, who will be making history by becoming the first female Chief of Staff to a president. She will also go down in the books of American political history.
