Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Reliance Foundation Chairperson Nita Ambani with US President-elect Donald Trump during a pre-swearing-in dinner in Washington, DC. The event was held a day before Trump’s inauguration.

He received an invite for the Republican leader’s swearing-in ceremony, in addition to the post-event reception organized by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. News reports claimed the Ambanis attended a “candlelight dinner” scheduled to precede the event. Mukesh Ambani is a member of that tiny class of richest persons in the world.

The Ambanis posed for photos at the dinner with industry leaders and Trump himself. Mukesh Ambani was in a black suit, while Nita Ambani wore a black saree with an overcoat and emerald jewelry. Real estate entrepreneur Kalpesh Mehta shared photos with the Ambanis on Instagram. One of his posts was captioned, “Fun night with Nita and Mukesh Ambani at the inaugural event for President Trump.”

The other leading global business tycoons present on the occasion were Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. ANI reported that Mukesh Ambani was likely to occupy an important seat at the dais when Trump’s Cabinet nominees and elected officials would be sworn in.

Due to extreme cold in Washington, DC, the swearing-in ceremony of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States is an indoor affair, marking the first time this has occurred since 1985. Traditional events on the day include a Church service, White House tea, and inaugural address at the Capitol.

The External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will represent India in the ceremony. Among other prominent guests, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Tim Cook, Sundar Pichai, Sam Altman, Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, and former President Joe Biden will attend.
