Ahead of the Delhi assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal confirmed that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Samajwadi Party (SP) have announced their support for AAP. Kejriwal expressed his gratitude to both parties for their backing in the crucial upcoming polls.

In a post on social media platform X, former CM thanked West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC Chairperson Mamata Banerjee for her party’s support. “TMC has announced support to AAP in Delhi elections. I am personally grateful to Mamata Didi. Thank you, Didi. You have always supported and blessed us in our good and bad times,” Kejriwal wrote.

TMC’s Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien swiftly responded, reinforcing the support for AAP, saying, “We have your back @AamAadmiParty.”

Similarly, on Tuesday night, Kejriwal expressed his thanks to Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav. “Thank you very much Akhilesh ji. You always support and stand with us. I and the people of Delhi are grateful for this,” Kejriwal wrote in Hindi, sharing a report that confirmed SP’s backing for AAP in the elections.

Continued Support from TMC and SP After 2020 Delhi Elections

The TMC and SP had also supported AAP during the 2020 Delhi assembly elections, where AAP secured a resounding victory. Derek O’Brien had uploaded a video in 2020 endorsing not just Kejriwal but all AAP candidates. Akhilesh Yadav had also congratulated Kejriwal on his party’s success following the elections.

Kejriwal Criticizes Congress for Its Alleged Alliance with BJP

While AAP has garnered significant support from TMC and SP, Kejriwal took the opportunity to hit out at the Congress after Ashok Gehlot, Congress leader and Rajasthan Chief Minister, claimed that AAP leaders were delusional about their chances of victory. Gehlot argued that Congress was campaigning well and expected positive results in the upcoming Delhi elections.

In response, Kejriwal accused Congress of secretly aligning with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). “It’s clear that Congress sees AAP as its main opposition in Delhi, and BJP as its partner,” Kejriwal wrote on X. He further stated that this covert alliance between Congress and BJP had now been made public, thanking them on behalf of the people of Delhi for revealing their true stance.

Political Landscape in Delhi Ahead of 2025 Assembly Polls

As the Delhi assembly elections approach, the political environment remains heated. With strong support from TMC and SP and criticism aimed at Congress, AAP’s convenor continues to cement his position as the AAP’s candidate for Chief Minister.
