Laura Loomer Faces Backlash for Anti-Immigrant Comments

Laura Loomer, a far-right activist and strong supporter of Donald Trump, has sparked outrage with her comments about Indian immigrants. She referred to South Asian migrants as “third-world invaders,” which has drawn significant criticism from various groups.

Criticism of Sriram Krishnan’s Appointment

The backlash intensified after Loomer criticized the appointment of Sriram Krishnan as a senior AI policy adviser at the White House. Notably, even Trump allies, including Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk, condemned her remarks. Musk, in particular, labeled her a “troll,” further fueling the controversy.

Opposition to the H-1B Visa Program

In addition to her criticism of Krishnan, Loomer has long opposed the H-1B visa program. She voiced her displeasure on social media, stating, “The tech billionaires don’t get to just walk inside Mar-a-Lago and stroke their massive checkbooks and rewrite our immigration policy so they can have unlimited slave laborers from India and China who never assimilated.” She also emphasized, “I don’t care about being called ‘racist’ by people who don’t have the best interest of the American worker in mind.”

Allegations Against Musk and Censorship

Loomer’s criticism did not stop there. She accused Musk of retaliating against her by suspending her premium X (formerly Twitter) account. Musk had earlier defended Krishnan’s appointment, arguing that there is “infinite potential for job and company creation” and dismissing the “fixed pie” economic theory that Loomer supports.

Loomer’s Controversial Past

Loomer has long been a controversial figure, first gaining attention during Trump’s campaign. She is known for her anti-Muslim views and conspiracy theories, having worked with controversial groups like Project Veritas and Infowars. Despite running for Congress in 2020 and 2022, Loomer lost both races. Furthermore, she has been banned from major platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Uber. Although Trump considered hiring her for his campaign, he hesitated due to her divisive reputation.
