Ram Bazaar’s kachoris prime attraction at Kota Mahotsav Heritage Walk

The Heritage Walk, a major attraction of the three-day Kota Mahotsav, commenced with great fanfare on Tuesday morning. The walk, organized to showcase the rich heritage, culture, and ancient landmarks of Kota, saw the enthusiastic participation of public representatives, administrative officials, business leaders, and local residents dressed in vibrant costumes.

The walk began at Mathuradhish Ji Temple in Patanpol, with dignitaries including Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar, Kota South MLA Sandeep Sharma, District Collector Dr. Ravindra Goswami, and various public figures. The participants, wearing colorful turbans and traditional attire, walked through key spots such as Garh Palace, Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, Kaithunipol, Shripura, Sabzi Mandi, and Agrasen Bazaar, before concluding at Rampura Bazaar.

In the Bazaar, they were treated to Kota’s famous hot Kachori, served as part of the Kachori Fest, delighting participants.

During the event, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla released a booklet on Kota Mahotsav and expressed his appreciation for the city’s cultural diversity. He emphasised Kota’s rich heritage and announced plans for future development, including the promotion of religious tourism and beautification initiatives such as façade lighting on Heritage Walk routes. He also outlined efforts to give Kota a distinct identity through collaborative efforts.

Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar and Kota South MLA Sandeep Sharma also addressed the gathering, stressing the importance of promoting Kota as a tourist destination and enhancing the city’s heritage.

The event saw awards for the best-dressed participants, including Roop Prakash Suman and Santosh Suman, who were selected as the Best Traditional Dress Couple. Other winners were also honored by the dignitaries.

Special recognition was given to various associations, including the Kota Vyapar Mahasangh and the SSI Association, for their contributions to the success of the Heritage Walk.

More than 150 welcome gates were set up along the route, adding to the festive atmosphere.
