‘We Stand With Blake’: America Ferrera And Friends Back Lively Against Justin Baldoni

The well-known actor and producer Blake Lively has accused Justin Baldoni, who directed her most recent hit film It Ends With Us, of harassing her and planning an effort to damage her reputation. Her close friends and co-stars from the 2005 movie The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, and Alexis Bledel, have issued a united statement supporting her following this discovery.

On social media, the three, who call themselves Blake’s “sisters” of twenty years, expressed their indignation. Their statement said, “We support Blake as she bravely faces what we perceive to be a concerted attempt to silence and discredit her.” They denounced the purported use of domestic abuse survivors’ testimonies as a means of defence and applauded Blake’s courage in confronting hazardous working circumstances while shooting.

The statement also expressed their shock that someone as powerful and resourceful as Blake might be targeted for reprisals for raising concerns. They said, “Her fight inspires us,” highlighting the necessity of unity in the face of injustice.

According to Blake’s thorough complaint, Justin Baldoni and the production crew launched a concerted and well-funded attempt to damage her reputation after she claimed to have experienced ongoing sexual harassment at work. She asserts that the effort included spreading unfavourable information about her, influencing social media narratives, and using crisis management techniques to protect Baldoni’s reputation.

Lively also shared her unsettling on-set experiences, which prompted her to suggest a list of 30 requirements for workplace safety. These included avoiding inappropriate conversations, prohibiting the display of graphic content, and making sure an intimacy coordinator was present during specific situations. She also requested protection from unjustified interference with her private affairs, such as her weight, her religious convictions, and any mention of her deceased father.

These accusations have been brushed aside by Baldoni’s legal team as unfounded and provocative. They claim that the studio took action to lessen Blake’s purported threats to stop working on the project and its promotion unless her demands were fulfilled.

Based on Colleen Hoover’s best-selling book, It Ends With Us made a $50 million opening at the box office despite the criticism. However, problems between Lively and Baldoni plagued the run-up to its release, with Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, taking centre stage at promotional events while Baldoni stepped back.
