While most people on social media condemned the way the situation was handled, others pointed out that the man probably suffered from mental health issues and needed proper help.
Lata Argade, railway activist, who got the video from a passenger, says she was worried about the lack of security. She questions how he could board the train without being noticed at such a busy station as Ghatkopar.
Railway officials said that he was mentally unstable. GRP arrested him immediately, gave him some clothes, and took him out of the station. The incident has sparked a renewed debate on passenger safety and awareness about mental health on public transport.
