Groom’s Bachelor Party Turns Upside Down, Arrested For Playing ‘Teen Patti’

A groom’s bachelor party took a wild turn when he and 12 family members were caught gambling just hours before the wedding. The 27-year-old groom and his family were playing teen patti-three-card poker at Tumbi Hall near Jilani Bridge, Gujarat, late Friday night. They claimed it was part of their celebratory tradition.

At around 3 am, Rander police raided the venue after getting a tip-off and found the group heavily engrossed in the game. The authorities seized cash amounting to Rs 76,720, five decks of cards, and 12 mobile phones worth Rs 1.32 lakh. The bridegroom and his family members were booked under the Gambling Act and sent to bail on Friday evening. The bridegroom and his brother have been given priority to attend to the marriage ceremony.

A more bizarre incident has surfaced when the groom in a wedding scheduled to be held in Amethi of Uttar Pradesh was missing three days ahead of the scheduled marriage ceremony. The bride’s family, based on the complaints that she was having a relationship with another woman with the groom, Sohanlal Yadav, held the groom by hostage and demanded remuneration for the wedding preparations that had gone into the event.

Tensions erupted when the groom’s family issued a missing person report. Wedding guests at the venue at night without the groom have caused some confusion and higher tensions around the wedding affair.
