Four Delhi Schools Face Another Bomb Threat via Mass Emails

Four schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails on Friday morning, which led to a search by multiple agencies. This follows a similar incident on December 9, when 44 schools received bomb threats that were later confirmed to be hoaxes.

Threats Across Multiple Schools

The emails were sent to Bhatnagar International School in Paschim Vihar at 4:21 am, Cambridge School in Shri Niwas Puri at 6:23 am, DPS Amar Colony in East of Kailash at 6:35 am, and one other school. In response, the Delhi Fire Services received the alerts and quickly dispatched fire officials, police, bomb detection teams, and dog squads to inspect the schools.

School Closures and Ongoing Checks

As a result of the threats, school authorities instructed parents not to send their children to school. Meanwhile, a police official confirmed that the safety checks are still ongoing at the affected schools.

Previous Bomb Threats in Delhi

This recent threat comes just days after the December 9 incident, when 44 schools across Delhi received similar bomb threat emails. However, the police determined the threats to be hoaxes after finding no explosives during their searches. Despite the hoaxes, security around Delhi schools was increased, with barricades and emergency response vans stationed at key locations.

Recurring Threats in Delhi Schools

This is the third bomb threat incident in Delhi schools in recent months. Previously, on May 1, more than 250 schools in the National Capital Region (NCR) received similar threats. These threats were also declared hoaxes. In the past two years, at least five other bomb threat incidents have occurred at Delhi schools. However, unlike before, where individual schools were targeted, the recent threats were sent via mass emails.
